Overview
A clip-on convex towing mirror twin pack, extending vision around a towed caravan for safer lane changes and reversing.
Common questions
Will these clip onto any vehicle mirror?
Clip-on fitment needs a lip between your mirror glass and the housing for the clamps to bite on. Plenty of older utes and wagons have a flush mirror face with nowhere to grab. Have a look at your vehicle before ordering rather than after.
Does convex glass change how I judge distance?
Yes. Convex glass squeezes a wider field into the same area, so traffic behind looks smaller and further back than it really is. Give yourself extra room the first few trips until your eye recalibrates, and lean on a spotter or camera when you are backing into a tight site.
Should I leave them on when I am not towing?
Take them off once you unhitch. Clip-ons sit out in the airstream, and a gust off a passing road train can push a poorly tightened mirror out of adjustment or off the door entirely. Check the clamps each morning on corrugated roads, and stow them in the van.
