Will it fit the space above my cooktop?
Check the 750mm overall height against the gap between your cooktop and the ceiling before anything else. The chimney is telescopic, so it collapses down a fair way, but the canopy body itself does not. The 500mm depth is the other one people forget, particularly where a locker door swings.
Is a touch panel a good idea on the road?
Touch controls stay clean because there is nothing to trap fat around a knob, and they wipe over with the glass. The downside is you cannot feel your way to a setting in the dark, and a wet finger sometimes changes speed when you meant to turn it off. Minor, but real.
Do I need the charcoal filter?
Only if you are recirculating rather than ducting outside, and it is not included. Without it, recirculating mode moves air and catches grease in the mesh but does little about smell. If you are ducting through the wall, skip the charcoal entirely and just wash the aluminium filters regularly.
