Common questions
What am I giving up by going entry-level?
Mostly the clever bits. You get a 4-digit LED display with soft-touch buttons rather than app control and energy tracking from your phone. The compressor cooling and the 12/24 V DC and AC flexibility are the same idea, so the fridge still does the fridge part properly.
Is 28 litres enough for a couple for a weekend?
For a two-night trip, yes, if you plan the packing. Twenty-eight litres is about 26 cans with nothing else in there, so in practice it is drinks or food, not both. Couples touring for longer usually wish they had gone a size up.
Can it genuinely freeze, or just get very cold?
It genuinely freezes, down to -22°C, but it is one compartment, so freezing means the whole 28 litres is frozen. Most people run it as a fridge. Use the freeze setting when you are carrying meat out to a remote camp and buying nothing on the way.

Outdoor Camping Australia operates a nationwide distribution network, with items shipping from:
- Our warehouse in Bendigo, Victoria
- Partner supplier warehouses on the East Coast
- Partner supplier warehouses on the West Coast

Important Shipping Notes:
- We cannot deliver to PO Boxes, Private Mail Bags or Parcel Lockers
- Depot pickup options may be available at reduced rates (contact us to discuss)
- Off-mainland deliveries require additional shipping fees (custom quoted)
- Missed deliveries may incur a redelivery fee set by the courier
- All shipments managed through our trusted delivery partners including Border Express, VicTas, DHL, StarTrack, AusPost, Sendle and Aramex
Returns
As outlined in our Refund Policy, we follow the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) which protects consumers by providing certain guaranteed rights when buying goods and services.
You can return items if:
- The product is faulty or not of merchantable quality
- The product is not fit for its intended purpose
- The product does not match the description
- You can present proof of purchase
For change of mind returns:
- Item must be in original condition with tags attached
- Must be returned within 30 days of purchase
- Original proof of purchase required
- Return shipping is at customer's expense
- Original delivery charges are non-refundable unless due to our error

3-Year Manufacturer Warranty
Dometic provides a 3-year warranty on its fridge products, in line with Australian consumer laws. This warranty covers:
- Manufacturing defects
- Faults in materials or workmanship

What’s Not Covered by the Warranty
To ensure clarity, the Dometic warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and tear from regular use
- Damage from improper use or handling
- Cosmetic issues that don’t impact functionality
- Damage caused by extreme weather, accidents, or external factors
- Unauthorized modifications or repairs
- Products used commercially (unless specified otherwise)
- Second-hand, demo, ex-display, or refurbished items
- Issues arising from failure to follow care or maintenance instructions
- Perceived faults where the product meets Dometic’s performance standards
Note: These exclusions do not affect your statutory rights under local consumer laws.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
If you suspect a manufacturing defect with your Dometic product, follow these steps:
- Contact Us or Your Retailer: Reach out to Camping Australia at contact@campingaustralia.com.au (if purchased from us), the retailer where you bought the product, or your local Dometic branch (find details at dometic.com/dealer). Provide proof of purchase and a description of the issue.
- Return for Inspection: Include your receipt and a note explaining the problem when sending the product back.
- Assessment: Dometic will evaluate the product. If the issue is covered, they’ll repair or replace it at their discretion.

Consumer Rights
Australia Only:
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You’re entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You may also have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure isn’t a major one.
New Zealand Only:
This warranty is subject to the conditions and guarantees mandated by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (NZ).
