The Camec Caravan Entry Door with Flyscreen (RH Hinge, 610 x 1790mm) is a narrower variant of Camec's leading entry door assembly, designed for caravans with a 610mm-wide entry opening. This slimmer door profile is commonly specified in compact and lightweight caravans, camper vans and pop-tops where interior floor space is at a premium. Like the standard 686mm model, this door features an aluminium-framed fibreglass composite panel with a foam insulation core, an integrated magnetic fly screen, a stainless steel handle set with a 3-point deadbolt lock, full-perimeter weatherstrip and a built-in entry step — all factory-fitted and ready for installation.
The right-hand hinge configuration suits the standard RH opening layout in most compact caravans, where the hinges are on the roadside. The lightweight composite construction of the door panel keeps tow weight to a minimum while providing solid structural rigidity and thermal insulation comparable to a much heavier solid panel. This assembly is suitable for replacement of existing Camec or compatible 610 x 1790mm RH-hinge doors, and is also widely used by caravan manufacturers building in the lightweight and budget-friendly category.
Common questions
Who is the narrow 610mm width for?
Compact vans, pop-tops and camper vans, where the wall between the doorway and the next bit of cabinetry is tight. It is genuinely narrower than the common size. If you regularly carry a chair in each hand or an esky through that doorway, the wider door is worth chasing.
Which side counts as right hand?
Stand outside and face the door. Right hand means the hinges are on your right. The van decides this, not your preference, and a door cannot be swapped over afterwards, so work it out standing at the van rather than from memory in front of a screen.
Will it suit my existing opening?
Only if your aperture already measures 610 x 1790mm or can be squared up to it. These are sized to the hole in the wall. Measure the opening, check the diagonals match so you know it is square, and check your wall thickness before the old door comes off.
