Common questions about AeroPress Go Coffee Maker
Does it make espresso?
Not espresso, no. You push the plunger by hand, which gives you pressure but nowhere near what a machine does. What you get is a strong, clean concentrate you can drink as is or top up with hot water. Think of it as a very good black coffee.
What do I need that is not in the box?
Ground coffee, a heat source and a bit of water discipline. The 20 micro filters get you started and then you are into refills, and water between 80 and 96 degrees means a camp stove kettle is fine — no need for a thermometer. A hand grinder is the upgrade most people make.
How much water does cleaning it take?
Barely any, which matters when you are carting your own. Pop the puck of grounds straight into the bin or the fire, give the seal a quick rinse and it is done. A plunger, by comparison, means sloshing grounds out and scrubbing a filter every morning.
