Measure the hull centreline from bow tip to transom, not the trailer, and drop the bimini before fitting. Covers are cut to hull length, so a boat at the top of the 14 to 16 range with a high bowrail or a bowsprit will feel tight.
Chafe and pooled water, not the sun. Pad any sharp corner the fabric sits on with a towel or pipe lagging, and prop the centre with a pole or a bucket so rain runs off instead of forming a pond that stretches the fabric.
It is rated for it, but the straps do the work. Cinch every buckle until the fabric drums rather than flaps, run a rope under the hull front and back, and pull over after the first few kilometres to re-tension. Flapping fabric sands paint.
