A plow buries deeper and holds harder once it is set, particularly in sand and mud. A claw sets faster and resets more willingly when the tide turns you around. The plow's weakness is that first bite: give it a slow reverse and time, and it will dig in.
The shank and the fluke are one piece, so there is no hinge to wear, jam with grit or bend out of line. That makes it simpler and easier to rinse down. It also means it will not articulate if the pull comes from a sharp angle, so scope matters more.
Delta-style anchors are shaped to self-launch over a roller, which is half their appeal, but the fit is specific to your bow. Measure the roller width and the gap to your bowsprit or pulpit before ordering, and check the shank clears as it rolls over rather than only when it sits.
