Overview
A mobile 4G WiFi router with built-in GPS and internal antenna, for connected internet on the road.
Common questions
Will an internal antenna be enough out bush?
In town and in most caravan parks, yes. Out where the bars run thin, an internal antenna is the limiting factor, because it sits inside a metal-skinned van and has no height. If fringe coverage is the reason you are buying, plan on an external antenna instead.
Why use a router when my phone can hotspot?
It keeps the connection off your phone. A router runs all day without flattening a handset, shares a single service across laptops, tablets and the kids, and stays put in the best spot in the van rather than in someone's pocket at the beach. A phone is a fallback, not a network.
What is the built-in GPS for?
Knowing where the unit is. Paired with a service that logs it, that means position tracking for the van itself, which has obvious appeal if it lives in storage between trips. It only reports while it has power and coverage, so it is a helpful extra rather than a security system.
