One stick, or should I run a pair?

This is sold as a single, and one is right for mobility support, stream crossings and the odd steep pitch. If you are carrying a pack all day, a matched pair shares the load across both arms and keeps you square. Decide by how much weight you carry.

How do I set the height?

Stand on flat ground with the tip down and your elbow bent at a right angle, then lock it there. The 85 to 130 cm range covers most adults. Set it too long and you push yourself sideways instead of taking weight through the stick.

Will the carbide tip mark floors?

Yes, which is exactly why the rubber cover is in the box. Bare carbide is for rock, gravel and hard-packed dirt, where it bites. On decking, tiles, van flooring and paved paths that same tip skates and scratches, so slip the rubber on indoors.
