Common questions about Micro Fuse - 15A 5 Pack

What sort of circuits take a 15A micro fuse?

The heavier end of what a micro slot handles, so think accessory sockets, a small pump, a light circuit with a few draws on it. If the circuit is pulling more than 15A you are into a different fuse format and heavier cable, not a bigger micro fuse.

Can I use a 15A where the box calls for 10A?

No. The rating printed in the fuse box matches the cable the factory ran, and going up leaves that cable unprotected. Going down is safer but you will be replacing fuses constantly. Match the rating to what came out and keep 5A, 10A and 15A on hand.

How do I tell a blown one without a tester?

Hold it to the light and look at the metal strip through the plastic, because a blown fuse shows a break or a smoky film. Micro fuses are small enough that the break can be hard to see, so if you are squinting, swap it for a known good one from the pack of 5.
