Common questions about Masterbuilt Gravity Series® Replacement Fan Kit
How do I know the fan is what is wrong?
The usual tell is temperature that wanders or will not climb, because the fan feeds air to the charcoal, so when it weakens the cook runs cold and the controller chases it. Check the hopper seals and the ash first though; a blocked airflow path looks exactly like a tired fan.
Will it fit my 560, or do I need a different version?
Same part across the range. The 560, 800, 1050 and 1050+ XL all take this fan, so there is no model-specific version to get wrong. It uses the original harness connector, so the job is unplug the old one and plug the new one in, no tools involved.
Is it worth carrying a spare on the road?
If the smoker travels with you, yes. The fan is the moving part in a cooker that otherwise has none, and without it the temperature control stops working and you are back to guessing vents. It is small enough to live in the drawer with the covers and probes.
