Common questions about Compass Softee 12031 Blue

Is a steel-framed chair too heavy to carry?

For a campsite, no. You carry it from the boot to the fire and back. For hike-in camping it is the wrong chair, and an aluminium frame packs lighter. The steel is what gives you the 120 kg capacity and a seat that does not flex under you.

Will it fit in an already packed boot?

Folded it is roughly 90 x 15 x 15 cm, a long thin bundle rather than a compact one, so it wants to lie along the floor or down the side of a drawer system. The carry bag has a shoulder strap, which matters more than packed size at a footy ground.

Will it sink into sand?

The rubber caps are made for hard ground and grass, not soft sand, and they will dig in on a beach like any small-footed chair. On sand, sit it on a mat or accept the lean. On grass, gravel or a slab, the 42 cm seat height holds it steady.
