Camco
No, and that is the trade-off. It fills the opening, so while it is in place you have blocked the light and the heat and also the airflow. Pull it out overnight in the warmer months or you will wake up to condensation running down the inside of the hatch.
The reflective face bounces radiant heat back out before it loads into the cabin, and at midday a roof hatch is the hottest hole in the van. It reduces heat transfer through that one opening. It is not roof insulation, so judge it on the space directly below.
That is the better reason to own one. A roof hatch is usually why a caravan ceiling starts glowing at first light, and this blacks it out completely. Shift workers and anyone travelling with small kids who nap will get more out of it than the heat side.
