Common questions about 1 Pair 5 Finger Oven Mitt BBQ Grill Gloves
Do the five fingers actually help, or is a mitt easier?
Five fingers win any time you need to grip a handle, turn tongs or hook a lid loop. A mitt is bulkier but clumsy. The trade-off is that articulated fingers put less material between you and the heat, so they suit quick lifts rather than long holds over coals.
What is the extended cuff really for?
Reaching over the fire, not the grill. Most camp burns land on the inside of the forearm when you lean across coals to shift a pot at the back. The cuff covers that strip, and it also stops embers and fat spatter dropping down inside the glove.
Will they cope with a wet or steaming pot?
Less well than with dry heat. Fabric soaks up moisture, and wet fabric moves heat to your skin quickly. Lift steaming billies and stew pots with a dry glove, and if one gets damp while you cook, let it dry properly before the next serious grab.
