About this campsite

Yarrowyck Gwydir River is a scenic outdoor destination offering the opportunity for camping with ample space for all-sized rigs and tents. Located alongside the picturesque Gwydir River, it's a perfect spot for swimming, fishing, or simply tranquil resting. The area features Aboriginal Art at Mount Yarrowyck, adding a historical touch to your visit. However, be mindful of possible flood waters after heavy rain which may impact the long cement crossing. Once the rain stops, the water levels typically recede quickly.

This area is a large grassed area with room for all sized rigs. Good tent camping area as well. This was the old Uralla to Bundarra Road. The crossing across the Gwydir River is not open to vehicles. There is Aboriginal Art nearby at Mount Yarrowyck. This area may not be good after heavy rain as there is a long cement crossing on the road in that can be cut by flood waters. Usually this crossing is shallow. The water levels drop quickly after the rain stops.

How to Get There

Northwest from Uralla on Thunderbolts Way turn left onto Yarrowyck Crossing road. Or west from Armidale on the Bundarra road turn left onto the Thunderbolts Way and right onto the Yarrowyck Crossing Road. This is good gravel road for about 6 kms to camp ground beside the Gwydir River. The river can't be crossed.
