Barokee Campground Cathedral Rock, situated in Cathedral Rock National Park, provides a serene setting amongst tall trees for an intimate camping experience. Serving as the nearest camp to Cathedral Rock, it offers adventurers the opportunity to trek along the Cathedral Rock track or the Barokee to Native Dog Creek walk. The campground is located near a swampy valley, home to an array of plants and wildflowers, including orchids and the purple-flowered coast mint bush, guaranteeing a burst of colour through different seasons. The high-altitude location fosters the growth of unique alpine shrubs like the alpine fan flower, bottlebrush, and epacris.

Located in the central section of Cathedral Rock National Park, the campground is the closest point to Cathedral Rock itself, so you can enjoy a trek along Cathedral Rock track or the longer Barokee to Native Dog Creek walk. The swampy valley at the head of Snowy Creek near Barokee is home to a variety of plants and wildflowers. Many of these flower in spring while some, such as orchids, and the pretty purple flowered coast mint bush at different times of the year. At the high altitude, alpine shrubs such as the alpine fan flower, bottlebrush and epacris thrive here.

How to Get There

Proceed to waypoint on the Waterfall Way, 5,5km south-west of Ebor. Turn west into Round Mountain Road and proceed for 8km on gravel road to campground. Not suitable for caravans.
