Platypus Camp is a free campsite located on the Wellington River approximately 26 kilometres north of Licola along Tamboritha Road in Alpine National Park. The site provides basic facilities including toilets and tent sites, with access for cars only and overnight camping permitted. Positioned as the last riverside camp before the road climbs into the higher country, the area features good forest surroundings and river frontage. Dogs are welcome at this campsite, which can become busy due to its convenient location for visitors heading further into the Victorian High Country.
