Cockatoo Camp offers free camping in the Victorian High Country near Crookayan, situated in a narrow forested valley alongside a river. The campground features approximately ten semi-dispersed sites beneath peppermint and mountain gum canopy with grassed red gravel surfaces. Toilets are provided on-site. Dogs are welcome at this budget-friendly location, which attracts wallabies, wrens, tree creepers and other local wildlife. Sites slope toward the river but most camping areas are level. The setting provides reasonable shade from native trees with an understorey of saplings and wattles throughout the riverside reserve.
