Head to Gheerulla Pioneer Park for a serene, historical retreat that honors the past while embracing community spirit.
About this campsite
Gheerulla Pioneer Park serves as an enduring tribute to the pioneer farmers of the Kenilworth District, graciously donated by Bert Sims. Mr. Sims, an esteemed councillor at the time, resourcefully applied Federal Drought Relief funds and enlisted the help of volunteers to materialize this unique dream in 1979. Unfortunately, Mr. Sims passed away in 1981, missing the erection of the commemorative plaque he had envisioned on a distinguished rock at the park entrance. However, his spirit lives on in this cherished park, a testament to the rich history and indelible work of the pioneering farmers of the Kenilworth District.
