Epic Ocean Adventures Noosa

Epic Ocean Adventures has been running eco tours out of Noosa since 2011, and the tours go somewhere most visitors never reach. Double Island Point sits inside Great Sandy National Park and can only be accessed by four-wheel drive along the beach. You travel via the Tewantin cable ferry and up Teewah Beach, spotting wildlife on the drive. The dolphin kayak tour is the most popular: bottlenose dolphins are around all year, along with turtles and rays in clear water. From June to October humpback whales pass through on migration and the whale watching kayak tour runs instead. Surf lessons are taught on the point break — this is the only Noosa operator permitted to do so, which means long, slow beginner waves rather than beach dumpers. Stand up paddle eco tours are also available. Tours include equipment, the four-wheel drive transfer, national park and ferry fees, and light refreshments. There are six pickup points around Noosa, and private tours can be arranged.
