About this campsite

The Franklin River Reserve Rest Area is a well-manicured, two-level green space ideal for daytime use. Equipped with picnic tables and wood BBQs, it's perfect for family gatherings, picnics, or a simple respite for travelers. Boasting informative displays, it offers a blend of relaxation and learning. However, as of October 31, 2020, in response to infrastructure damage, environmental concerns, and public health risks, the Council permanently restricted camping and overnight stays. This action aims to maintain the site's safety and protect its broad range of resources. Despite these restrictions, Franklin River Reserve in Toora remains a beautiful day-visit area and a welcome green space along the South Gippsland Highway.
