About this campsite

The Kinbombi Falls Picnic Area is a picturesque spot ideal for picnics and nature lovers. It offers spectacular views and ample photo opportunities, with barbecue facilities and toilets enhancing guest comfort. The site also boasts limited mobile coverage. Visitors can hike to the waterfall but should note that the route is steep with some boulders, suggesting a moderate fitness level is advisable. The picnic area also features a tap near the toilet block.

Kinbombi Falls Picnic Area offers a truly remarkable outdoor experience, catering to different types of adventurers. The site is easily accessible, with only a short part of the route being a non-bitumen track leading to the picnic grounds. Once at the location, visitors can enjoy the wide, flat area with semi-shaded spaces suitable even for larger groups. For convenience, there are BBQ facilities and toilet blocks available, along with some mobile coverage in certain spots. One of the key attractions of this place is the steep track leading down to the falls and the waterhole. However, do note that this involves descending concrete stairs and scrambling over boulders, thus, requiring a moderate level of fitness and mobility. Besides these, the location offers outstanding scenic views, making it a great spot for photography enthusiasts. However, as of February 2020 updates, swimming in the creek water is not advisable. Lastly, please be cautious when using the water from the threaded tap, as it might be coming directly from the creek.
