About this campsite

Waldrons Swamp Rest Area, situated between Batemans Bay and Moruya, is a convenient spot for travelers, providing facilities like accessible toilets and fireplaces. Recently, the area underwent improvements with the addition of barriers around the grassed area and a newly added truck stop, creating a more structured layout. Despite being close to the highway, causing some traffic noise, it serves as a practical stopover spot. Please note that it's no longer predominantly a bush stopover and overnight stays might be less attractive due to the changes.

Waldrons Swamp Rest Area, perfectly situated between Batemans Bay and Moruya, offers a convenient stopover for travelers. The area has seen numerous upgrades, including the installation of accessible toilets and fireplaces, and a sealed surface for added comfort. The southern end also boasts a new truck stop, catering to longer distance drivers. Please note that recently implemented barriers around the grassed areas may impact overnight stays. Owned and managed by RMS, the layout was thoughtfully designed to serve as a highway rest stop. Despite its proximity to the highway and some resulting traffic noise, Waldrons Swamp Rest Area continues to serve as a valuable point of rest for all passing through. While recent changes have altered its erstwhile bush stopover charm, it continues to be a significant waypoint in the region.
