Red Box Camp is located within Alpine National Park in the Victorian High Country, offering a free camping option along the Wellington River. The campground features approximately 15 semi-dispersed tent sites in a narrow forested valley with shade from red box, peppermint and mountain gum trees. Sites slope towards the river with most providing level ground over grassed red gravel. Basic toilet facilities are available. The area includes horse yards, serving as the only formal horse camp along the Wellington River. Wildlife including wrens, tree creepers and wallabies frequent the location. Access is via forest tracks in the Crookayan area.
