River Access 7 is one of several dispersed camping areas along Merbein Common at Horseshoe Bend on the Murray River, managed by Parks Victoria. The site accommodates caravans and tents beneath river red gums, with the broad river maintained at consistent levels by upstream locks. Camping is spread across this riverside reserve, which features sandy banks and varied birdlife including waterbirds, cockatoos, galahs and honeyeaters. The surrounding landscape includes black box woodland and saline scrubland typical of this section of the Murray, located close to Mildura for convenient resupply access.
