Overview
This campground features 6 improved dispersed campsites. Sites 1-3 are intended for equestrian use providing plenty of space for horse trailers. There is not a corral or water trough, so be prepared for limited equestrian services.
Recreation
Equestrian and OHV access routes start immediately outside the entrance of the campground. Miles of roads are your fingertips and available for your riding pleasure. Adhere to all OHV and vehicle use guidelines.
Facilities
This campground has been improved and provides these convienences: a picnic table, fire pit and vault toilet.
Please provide your own water and take your trash home, there are no trash services available at this site.
Natural Features
A beautiful native grass meadow, mixed pine and red oak forest, and the slow moving waters of the Meadow Valley Creek are the natural features that can be located near this campground.

Snake Lake Campground and Equestrian Camp
Overview Snake Lake is located at approximately 3900 ft in elevation and is about 8 miles from the quaint town of Quincy, CA. Upon arriving, you are greeted by a mixed pine and fir forest as well as the shallow, lilly pad filled Snake Lake. Easy access to multi use trails can be found within the Snake Lake Basin. Recreation This campground is a hub of activity and hosts staging areas for mountain biking, equestrian, and OHV use. Play hard and respect everyones rights and activies. This is one of the only campgrounds that has use access to forest roads directly from the campground. Facilities These improvements can be found at each campsite: Fire pits Picnic tables Food storage locker Vault toilets For the equestrian users there is a small corral and a ADA mounting ramp Please use certified weed-seed-free feed for horses Please remove, scatter or bury manure piles left in corrals or while dispersed camping Use the provided corrals or hitching posts to stage horses; use high lines with tree saver straps to protect trees and minimize impact while dispersed camping Natural Features Snake Lake is a shallow reservoir that promotes the growth of Lilly Pads. Nearby Attractions The hamlet town of Quincy hosts many activities during the warm summer months. Music festivals, the Plumas County Fair, and other random activities are within a quick drive from the campground.

Silver Lake Campground (Plumas National Forest, CA)
Overview Large landscape views of trees and valleys can be seen along the six mile drive to Silver Lake. Sitting at just over 6,000 ft in elevation, the Silver lake campground set up for solitude and tranquility. The sites are spread out and isolated to provide for an optimal quiet experience to enhance the camping experience. Easy access to hiking trails, high alpine lakes and OHV riding is just a short distance from the campground. Recreation High alpine lakes, granite boulders and blue bird skies are treats for those who camp here. Access to hiking is located along the eastern side of Silver Lake. Continue up and on to Bucks Summit on the PCT or climb the prominent Spanish Peak where the ole look out once stood. OHV routes also leave from the campground area but were severely impacted by the Dixie Fire in 2021 and have not been maintained so be aware of hazard trees and other debris that might slow down your route. Facilities There are eight first come/ first serve campsites. Each site has a picnic table, fire ring and food storage locker. No trash service is provided Vault toilets are located in two areas of the campground Parking for day use and hiking is located near the lake by the vault toilets The Mount Hough Ranger Station maintains this campground and uses the fees collected to purchase cleaning supplies, toilet paper and general cleaning of campsites. Natural Features High alpine lakes, granite boulders and blue bird skies are treats for those who camp here. Access to hiking is located along the eastern side of Silver Lake. Overview Whitehorse campground is located within three miles of Bucks Lake in the northern Sierra Mountains on the Plumas National Forest. The Bucks Lake area offers year-round recreation activities including fishing, hiking, snowmobiling, skiing,snowshoeing and horseback riding. Recreation Staying at the Whitehorse campground provides access to several activites located in the greater Bucks Lake area. Fishing, boating, and canoeing, as well as hiking are all activities that can be achieved by staying in this campground. There are walking trails to the lake. A hiking trail runs from the campground and provides access to the Bucks Lake Wilderness and the Pacific Crest Trail. Marinas and boat docks are also within a short drive as well as restaurants at the Lakeside Resort and Bucks Lake Lodge which will re-open under new management in the summer for 2025, weather permitting. Limited supplies and a deli are located at the Haskins Valley Store just a short drive away. Facilities Your camping fees make a difference!!! In 2024 this campground recieved new concrete picnic tables and bear proof food storage lockers in most campsites. Vault toilets, water and trash services are on site as well. Natural Features This campground is set in a fir and pine forest offering shade during the warm summer months. Situated at 5,500 feet in elevation, the campground is settled along a small creek that feeds into Bucks Lake. Nearby Attractions The nearby Bucks Lake Lodge has a bar, restaurant and store offering fishing supplies and groceries.
