Ironbound high campground

Ironbound High Campground provides tent camping on the elevated Ironbound Range within Southwest National Park. Located at approximately 970 metres altitude, this remote high-country site sits along the challenging South Coast Track, reached after a steep 850-metre ascent from Louisa River. The campground serves bushwalkers traversing the exposed alpine section of this demanding multi-day trek, offering access to expansive coastal and inland views across southern Tasmania's wilderness. Walkers should be prepared for extreme weather exposure on the range. Facilities are minimal, consistent with wilderness camping standards in this remote national park area.
