Nestled amidst aromatic peppermint gums, it's an inviting site conducive for pop-top vans and tent camping, thanks to its low-hanging branches and clear areas. At Crystal Springs, you'll find picnic tables perfect for enjoying an outdoor meal, fire rings for those nighttime stories round the glowing embers, and well-maintained facilities. The campground does urge careful assessment before progressing into its depths to avoid getting caught in the branches. A scenic gravel road drives you 8km away to Mandalay Beach, christened after a ship that met its end there in 1911. While the panoramic views are nothing short of breathtaking, do take note of the warning signs; the surf is strong and comes with rips, thus swimming isn't advised.
