The island's predator-free status supports thriving native birdlife including kiwi, creating an outstanding dawn chorus. Visitors can walk the one-hour track to historic World War II gun emplacements and enjoy panoramic Sound views. Fires are prohibited, and all gear must be thoroughly checked for stowaways to protect the island's biosecurity status.
