The rooms at Umuwa — the administrative centre of the Anangu Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara Lands, about 460km south-west of Alice Springs in far north-west South Australia — serve service providers, contractors and visitors with business on the Lands. The APY Lands are Aboriginal freehold land under the APY Land Rights Act 1981 (SA), and a permit is required to enter communities including Umuwa.
