The Thurra River Campground flourishes as the largest camp within the marvelous Croajingolong National Park, offering a total of 46 sites. It's strategically positioned amidst a breathtaking coastal woodland, nestled between a peaceful river and the expansive ocean near the renowned Point Hicks. Renowned as a shallow river, the Thurra is a beloved getaway for families seeking respite on warm days. It's embellished with necessary amenities such as restrooms and barbecue facilities. To ensure a seamless camping experience, camper are required to make advanced bookings notably during the festive Summer and Easter holiday seasons. To maintain fairness, these bookings are allotted through application forms and via a ballot system. However, in off-peak periods, the campsite runs on a first-come, first-served policy with payments made directly on-site through honesty boxes.

How to Get There

Proceed to waypoint on Princes Highway at the junction of Tamboon Road, 200m before the Cann River Bridge at Cann River. At waypoint turn south and continue along Tamboon Road and Old Everard Road, for 36km. At the end of the road, the Lighthouse Track continues for a further 4km to the campground.
