Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of the Glasshouse Camping Area, nestled in the serene environment of Glasshouse Beach at Lake Tyers. This free-to-use camping site provides an authentic outdoor experience, with no facilities, encouraging a self-sufficient camping experience amidst nature. The terrain, though rocky, is easily navigable with a 2WD, opening up to flat, grassy campsites with firm sand underneath. Campers must respect the pristine environment, ensuring that they leave no trace behind, including responsibly disposing of human waste. Set out on an adventure with a short walk to the lake, or take on a longer sojourn to the beach. Please note, vehicles are not permitted on the flats or shores, with stringent fines enforced by Victoria Parks. The site boasts exciting activities ranging from fishing, canoeing to bird-watching, or simply bask in the tranquility of the surrounds. Notwithstanding some care needed in case of heavy rain, the site is generally easily accessible by 2WD and vans. A trove of wildlife beckons the curious explorers, including pelicans, goannas, kangaroos, and the melodious kookaburras. A short 10-min stroll will take you through beautiful dunes and grassland to the welcoming ocean. During summer, the Inlet closes, offering clear water and a unique coastal experience.
