Owned by Te Rūnanga o Ngāi Tahu and managed by a charitable trust, this internationally recognised nature haven offers camping on a first-come, first-served basis, with level tent sites and powered sites for campervans. Walking tracks including the Pond Loop and routes to Lonely Island and Ram Island allow visitors to explore the largest privately owned wetland ecosystem in New Zealand, valued for conservation, recreation, education and mahinga kai.
