About this rest area

Immerse yourself in nature at the Poona Northern End Foreshore Reserve. The stunning reserve enjoys spectacular views across the Great Sandy Strait to Fraser Island. Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate the access point to walking trails that explore the rich biodiversity of Poona Foreshore and Wetlands. Additionally, the reserve offers secluded spots for land-based fishing, particularly at high tide, offering a serene environment for relaxation or family fun. Whether you're an outdoor adventurer or a casual visitor, this reserve holds a unique appeal.

The foreshore reserve parking and turnaround area is small and unsuited to all but the smallest rigs. A second larger parking area with a turn-around facility exists away from the foreshore at the opposite end of Outridge Avenue. The Poona Walking Trails network cover the Poona Foreshore as well as the Wetlands to the North of Poona township (see pic). A top of the tide land-based fishing location.
