Pooginook Conservation Park offers free camping in the Riverland, approximately 213 kilometres north-east of Adelaide. The park features dense mallee scrub in its northern section, providing habitat for kangaroos, echidnas, hairy-nosed wombats, fat-tailed dunnarts and the rare malleefowl, while the southern area displays open mallee vegetation on former wheat farming land. Birdwatching opportunities include black-eared miners and honeyeaters, with spring bringing colourful mallee plant displays. The campground is accessible to conventional vehicles, though some boundary roads require four-wheel drive access. The site accommodates tents and off-road camping setups.
