Overview
The Paddy Flat Guard Station is located in the Payette National Forest of central Idaho. Guests enjoy the remote area for its hunting opportunities and abundance of hiking, biking, horseback riding and off-highway vehicle roads and trails. Abundant streams and numerous alpine lakes within travel distance offer fantastic fishing opportunities.
Recreation
The Paddy Flat Guard Station serves as an excellent jumping-off point for adventures via horseback, motorcycle, ATV or hiking. Numerous trailheads within a few miles allow access to alpine lakes for fishing, meadows for watching birds and wildlife, as well as peaks ranging as high as 8,681 foot elevation for excellent views of the South Fork of the Salmon River drainage.
Facilities
Two cabins are available for rental at this guard station. Please be respectful of visitors at the adjacent cabin. The cabins were fully renovated in 2024.
Limited kitchen utensils such as dished and silverware are provided, but please bring your own so you have what you need.
The Guard Station is a "Pack-It-In, Pack-It-Out" facility. All garbage/trash must leave with you. Please clean up after use.
Pets are allowed, however please be sure to clean up after and maintain control of your animal.
Administrative buildings on site are not available for use.
Firewood gathering is available in the forest areas surrounding the Paddy Flat Guard Station, although none is provided on site. Do not bring firewood that is not local to the area. Don't Move Firewood! Help prevent the spread of tree-killing pests in our National Forests by obtaining firewood in proximity to your destination and burning it on-site. No camping at the guard station. If camping is desired, Kennally Creek Campground, and a number of dispersed campsites are nearby.
Cabin East
The occupancy within the Cabin East is four people. The unit is fully accessible and includes an access ramp off the backdoor. The bathroom has a wheel-chair accessible shower stall, toilet and sink.
A second rental cabin is located at this Guard Station. Please be respectful to other parties using that facility.
Parking: Parking for this unit, is directly behind the cabin, with space for three vehicles.
EAST UNIT ONLY: Up to four head of pack and saddle stock are permitted at this site. Parking is adequate for one four-horse stock trailer. All stock feed must be certified weed free and provided by tenants. Use of the Barn is not allowed.
Update for 2026: Stock must remain contained within the provided corral or pasture. No pickets or high lines are permitted outside the corral or pasture. However, we recommend supplemental electric fencing due to the location and nature of the facilities, which may not be adequate to contain your stock. Questions on bringing your stock? Cabin West
The occupancy within the Cabin West is four people. Sleep quarters are on the second floor and include a queen size bed and twin-size bunk beds. There are two bathrooms at this house. On the first floor, the full bathroom includes a wheel-chair accessible shower stall, toilet and sink. On the second floor, the bathroom includes a tub/shower, toilet and sink.
A second rental cabin is located at this Guard Station. Please be respectful to other parties using the adjacent rental cabin.
There are stairs leading into the unit. The basement is off limits.
This unit does not have a fire pit outside.
Parking: Parking for this unit is near the garage to the rear of the property with capacity for three vehicles. </

Overview Kennally Creek Campground is situated in a serene setting among mature forest along the banks of Kennally Creek. This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Once on-site, you may be able to pay for your campsite(s) by scanning a QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app, and the Scan and Pay feature. If this option is available, you will need to first download the free Recreation.gov mobile app ht tps://www.recreation.gov/mobile-app prior to your arrival as some remote areas have limited or no cellular service. Recreation The North Fork Kennally Creek Trail #102, East Fork Kennally Creek Trail #099, and the Needles Summit Trail #101 depart immediately from the campground with additional trail access just a few miles down the road. Facilities Each of 11 sites include a fire ring and picnic table. A stock loading ramp and hitching rails are available at the site. Potable water is typically available June - September.

Overview This campground features nine sites along the North Fork of Lake Fork Creek. All sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. This location is available on a first-come, first-served basis only. Visitors are required to physically arrive at the campground to purchase and claim a site. Recreation This is a beautiful campground and a great base camp for adventure. From the campground, trails head east, branching north and south into pristine mountain areas: East Fork Lake Fork Creek Trail #104, Lake Fork First Bridge Trail #339, and Paddy Flat/Lake Fork Creek Trail #103. There are many points of interest and trailheads if you continue along Lick Creek Road. Nearby is Slick Rock-Climbing area, a stunning exposed granite wall. Popular hiking areas include, Box Lake, Snowslide Lake, and Duck Lake. Drive to Lick Creek Summit (6,879 ft.) for 360-degree views of the Salmon River Mountains. Facilities This campground features nine sites along the North Fork of Lake Fork Creek. Each site has a fire ring, charcoal grill, and a picnic table. All sites are available on a first come, first serve basis. There are two vault toilets and drinking water is centrally located. There are no hookups and no trash receptacles; please pack out your trash. Natural Features Forested campground near a creek at approximately 5,329 feet elevation.

Overview Rainbow Point Campground is located next to scenic Lake Cascade in west central Idaho. It is near the town of Donnelly, at an elevation of 4,850 feet. Boating, fishing, swimming and hiking are popular activities in this scenic region. Note: During the 2022 season, thinning work will be conducted in neighboring Amanita campground to reduce the risk associated with root rot and subsequent hazard trees. Recreation Lake Cascade offers excellent opportunities for boating, water skiing, canoeing, windsurfing and sailing. Anglers enjoy casting for rainbow trout, coho salmon, smallmouth bass and perch. A boat ramp is located within the campground. Many hiking and biking trails are in the area as well. Facilities This small campground offers single-family campsites. Each is equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring and grill. Some sites have lake views and shoreline access. Vault toilets, drinking water and trash collection are provided, but electricity is not available at the campground. Roads and parking spurs within the facility are gravel. Natural Features The campground is situated on the west shore of the lake, among a mixed-growth conifer forest that towers over the campground. Summer wildflowers are abundant. A wide variety of wildlife makes its home around the lake. Waterfowl and songbirds can also be seen in the area, as well as pelicans and bald eagles.
