Strategically located 3-4 hours from Latrobe Valley and situated at the top of a hill, it allows for a convenient and safe highway re-entry. In 2016, it underwent an upgrade introducing new restrooms, separate zones for trucks and travellers, and improved accessibility. About this campsite
VicRoads identifi ed this location as an ideal site for these improvements following consultation with key stakeholders including local freight industries and East Gippsland Shire Council. The site is located 3-4 hours from the Latrobe Valley, has excellent mobile phone reception and is at the top of a hill which makes re-entering the highway easier, safer and more attractive to truck drivers. Construction of the road and parking areas is scheduled to commence in early 2016 following the holiday period, at which time the existing rest area will be closed to the public.
