Mount Werong Campground sits at approximately 1200 metres elevation in the remote southern section of Blue Mountains National Park near Oberon. This free camping area provides tent sites, toilets, drinking water, barbecue facilities and picnic tables, serving as a base for exploring mountain bike trails and bushwalks including the Ruby Creek Mine Walking Track. The campground features around 10 level, shaded tent sites fenced from the road, making it unsuitable for camper trailers. A stone hut is available for temporary shelter only. Firewood collection is prohibited within the national park. Weather conditions can be extreme and unpredictable at this altitude.
