About this caravan park

Hamelin Pool Caravan Park is a feature-packed destination nestled beside the Shark Bay World Heritage area. It offers comfortable accommodation options for backpackers, families, and camping enthusiasts, with both powered and unpowered sites available. The park hosts a tea room offering a wide variety of meals, drinks, and unique souvenirs. Visit the old Telegraph Station, constructed in 1884, to learn about its historical significance to the region. The main attraction, however, are the fascinating stromatolites, some of Earth's earliest life forms, accessible via a 200m boardwalk with helpful informative signage.

There are powered and unpowered grassy sites for caravans, motorhomes, campers and tents. Back packer share rooms $35, Family Room 1 Queen 1 bunks (2) $120 and en suite $120. Anytime in the day, the tea room offers a large choice of milkshakes, delicious meals and breakfast, snacks, drinks and tea or coffee specialties. Original souvenirs and postcards are also available. The Hamelin Pool Telegraph Station was built in 1884 and became an important link in the telegraph line between Perth and Roebourne. The fascinating history of the telegraph station can be re-lived, by taking a tour of the museum which features relics from the days when the site was a repeater station on the Old Telegraph Line. A small entrance fee applies. Stromatolites are the number one attraction at Hamelin Pool. These ancient structures formed by organisms considered as some of the first living creatures on Earth are examples of what life on Earth was like 3.5 billion years old ago. A 200m boardwalk gives access to the stromatolites’ environment and interpretive signage helps explain all there is to know about these intriguing organisms.
