About this caravan park

Formerly known as El Questro Wilderness Park

Riverside and bush camping at The Station, deep in El Questro's 700,000-acre wilderness park on the Gibb River Road — dry season only, 4WD required, permit included with your booking.

El Questro Station is the camping heart of the 700,000-acre El Questro wilderness park in the East Kimberley, about 100km west of Kununurra at the start of the Gibb River Road. Unpowered sites run along the Pentecost River — including private riverside sites ten minutes from the village — with the powered Black Cockatoo campground near the Station facilities: showers, laundry, camp kitchen, bar and bistro. A compulsory Wilderness Park Permit is bundled with camping bookings and funds the tracks, trails and eco-toilets across the property. From camp you can reach El Questro Gorge, Amalia Gorge, Chamberlain Gorge cruises and the Zebedee Springs thermal pools, with Ngarinyin-guided cultural experiences running through the season. In 2022, 165,000 hectares of the property returned to the Ngarinyin Traditional Owners. The Station opens for the dry season only — roughly mid-April to mid-October — and every camping route in is 4WD territory. Dogs are welcome at the campsites on a lead, but not in gorges, waterways or on tours.
