Discovery Resorts - Wilpena Pound (formerly Wilpena Pound Resort) is the only place to stay inside Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park, about 430km north of Adelaide. Choose from fifteen glamping tents, sixty resort-style rooms, or the large campground with powered and unpowered sites for tents and caravans. The resort runs a restaurant, visitor centre, store and laundry, with scenic flights over the Pound departing on site — from twenty-minute loops to full-day safaris. The park itself is co-managed by a board of Adnyamathanha and SA Department for Environment and Water representatives, and Adnyamathanha-guided cultural walks run from the resort. Bushwalking trails lead straight from the resort into the Pound — the vast natural amphitheatre the Adnyamathanha call Ikara — with Wangara Lookout, St Mary Peak and the old Hills Homestead among the classics.
