About this campsite

The Berembed Weir Camping Area, a popular retreat by the Murrumbidgee River, known for its sandy beach for paddling and water fun, has unfortunately seen a decline in maintenance. Issues include unemptied rubbish bins, litter spread across the area, and a deteriorated access road due to past floods. However, despite these setbacks, the natural beauty of the beach remains intact for those able to overlook the current state. Improvement efforts from the local council could restore its former popularity.

Berembed Weir Camping Area is a tranquil spot nestled by the Murrumbidgee River's bank, previously acclaimed for its clean sandy beach where children could enjoy a fun, aquatic adventure. Recently, some challenges, particularly with littering and unattended rubbish bins, have somewhat dimmed this treasure's shine. The surrounding beauty, however, remains untouched if you can overlook the current state of cleanliness. The access road, though slightly rough from past flood damages, remains navigable. A concerted effort from the Council to restore the environs to their former glory would most certainly revitalize its popularity. Despite the existing issues, those who love a true, nature-filled experience will find the beach still holds its allure. The buzzing flies and untidiness are hurdles to cross, but the fishing and bushwalking opportunities in this picturesque locale persist in their attractiveness. Come rekindle your love for nature at Berembed Weir Camping Area.
