The Fraser Coast region is a destination rich in natural encounters and one of the main access points for whale watching in Australia's only nursery and calf playground, during the period from late July to early November, to seeing all of the Great 8 mega marine fauna at Lady Elliot Island (the start of the Great Barrier Reef) or spotting a dingo on Fraser, a dolphin in the Great Sandy Straits, or many others in the hinterland and rivers.
