Cocklebiddy, WA

About this campsite

Eyre Bird Observatory, the first of its kind in Australia, is nestled in the captivating Nuytsland Nature Reserve, and has been a haven for bird enthusiasts since 1977. This characterful stone building provides rustic accommodations if you wish to stay overnight; with three bedrooms and two sleepouts, accommodating up to 15 people, promising a comfortable stay intermingled with nature. Managed by dedicated wardens, they cater to visitors, carry out research and maintain the facility, ensuring an enriching experience for all. The Observatory promises captivating day-visits, although with the journey time from the highway, an overnight stay is recommended to maximize your experience. All meals are provided at the observatory, however, remember to pack your sleeping bag, pillowcase, towels, torch, and, the essential - your binoculars. A stay at the Eyre Bird Observatory promises a delightful, unique escape into the heart of nature, where the symphony of bird calls forms the soundtrack of your adventure!
